These are troubled times for us all. Just like many others I find myself in isolation and wondering what to do with my time, for the next few days and weeks which stretch out before us. In order to create a little distraction from the days ahead I would like to play a little game and I welcome anyone to join in.

My great interests are architecture and design and I have just had an idea which brings together typography and observations on architecture. I’m calling it the Architectural Alphabet Challenge, and I intend to complete one drawing (hopefully one a day) for each letter of the alphabet. Each drawing will feature either a style of architecture or a component of a building or structure and every day I would like comments and suggestions on the subject for the following letter.

To kick it off I have begun with ‘Acanthus’ just because it was on the first page of Pevsner’s Architectural Glossary.

I hope you will leave a suggestion here or comment on my Instagram Page
