Detail Drawings

An alternative to the full Archistory service is the commissioning of a smaller Detail Drawing. A feature of the house such as the front door and its surrounding frame or perhaps an unusual window design can be chosen. This can make an excellent small gift and has the advantage of being commissioned without a site visit, thus reducing costs.

The client will asked to take a clear digital photograph of the feature in question. This will be used as the basis for the drawing. Drawings cannot be guaranteed to scale using this method but the architectural features will be drawn with the greatest attention to detail.

The drawings will be given a title of a few words in a sympathetic typeface but not the full history of the house, unless required. They make excellent small gifts, being printed at around A4 size. Also they are useful as the artwork for moving home or Christmas cards. With the purchase of a “Detail Drawing” an electronic copy in PDF format is included. This can be printed by the owner at home or used for professional purposes. A further advantage is that drawings can be produced as surprise gifts, as no site visit is required.
